Primary service: voltage quality measurement
Energea installs PQ meters in secondary substations or at customer sites. The proprietary control system energiScada™ automatically collects the measurement data over secure communication and makes near real-time data available for power quality and voltage quality analysis. Deliverables include documented voltage quality and a vendor-independent recommendation of mitigation: OLTC (on-load tap changer), battery system, medium voltage booster (MVB), or traditional grid reinforcement.
Request the service by email: per@energea.no.
energiScada™
Proprietary control system that visualizes and controls local energy systems with equipment from many vendors. It collects PQ meter data automatically, controls OLTC tap changers and battery systems, and can combine PQ data with smart meter (AMS) data and weather data for analysis and hourly control plans.

Voltage quality for Elvia, Norwegian IDE program
- OLTC improves voltage quality, automatic tap changing of substation transformers at three substations with weak grids and high solar PV production; Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen tap changer; server application developed with Skivdal Data using AMS data from Google BigQuery and weather data from met.no. Report: IDE experience note (PDF); research paper: CIRED 2024 (IET). Details: prosjekt-oltc.html
- Battery system improves voltage quality (FBI), battery systems with energiScada™ at Mysen (since 2020), Årnes (2023) and Sjusjøen (cabin area, with MVB from Norsk Transformator). Report: IDE experience note (PDF). Details: prosjekt-batterisystem.html
- energiScada™ data visualization, AMS data analysis identifying where OLTC, battery, booster or combined solutions work best, and dimensioning of battery/booster systems. Details: prosjekt-visualisering.html
Harbour, charging and flexibility for Borg Havn IKS
- E-LAND (Horizon 2020), 2020 to 2024. Borg Havn was the Norwegian pilot for multi-vector energy control with island mode in focus, with a battery system, a large solar plant, EOS/SCADA and a thermal system. Project site: elandh2020.eu. Details: prosjekt-eland.html
- Flexibility feasibility study, 2023 to 2025. Proof of concept on battery control, solar output control in island mode, and analysis of hybrid harbour cranes with up to 900 kVA generators supporting island operation of the Øra terminal. Details: prosjekt-fleksibilitet-borg-havn.html
- Fast chargers at the Øra terminal, 2023 to 2025. Enova application, siting, procurement and construction, plus a charge point management system developed by Energea on OCPP 1.6J. Details: prosjekt-hurtigladere-oraterminalen.html
- Shore power pre-project, Tollboden, 2024. How to establish shore power at the ISPS terminal in central Fredrikstad for smaller cruise ships and Hurtigruten. Enova support granted. Details: prosjekt-landstrom-tollboden.html
Metering infrastructure and AMS
- SmartVann Hvaler, 2015 to 2018, for Hvaler municipality, part of SmartEnergi Hvaler. Fully automatic water meter reading, leak and frost alerts, built on existing AMS meters from Norgesnett. Hvaler became the first municipality in Norway with electronic water meter reading. Details: prosjekt-smartvann-hvaler.html
- AMS rollout at Norgesnett, 2018 to 2023. Meter replacement across a distribution area of roughly 100,000 customers, fully automatic collection of consumption data to Elhub under NVE requirements, and smart meter functions put into operation afterwards. Details: prosjekt-ams-norgesnett.html
- NextGen AMS, 2023 to 2026, for Norgesnett (now Glitre Nett). Survey of new European metering technology, a new requirement specification and a European tender won by Itron with the HW5 platform and distributed intelligence, for roughly 10,000 customers initially. Results reported to the AMS 2.0 working group under Fornybar Norge. Details: prosjekt-nextgen-ams.html
