Vendor-independent consultancy in energy and technology
Energea leads and delivers projects in voltage quality, battery systems, AMS (smart metering), IoT, SCADA and the integration of technical systems. We work from survey, engineering design and measurement through to choice of solution, procurement, implementation and commissioning.
We combine expertise in electrical power, IT and communications, and work both as project manager and as a hands-on resource. Where needed, we also assist with applications for public funding, setting up operations and handing over finished solutions to the customer's operating organisation.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What sets Energea apart as an advisory partner in grid and industrial projects?
Energea is an independent consultancy with deep specialist expertise that combines energy, IT and communications. We provide strategic support throughout the process to make sure the technical and financial solutions work together as well as possible.
What support does Energea offer over the course of a project?
Energea has broad experience from projects where we assist all the way from start to finish. This covers everything from the early phase, with engineering design and the preparation of Enova funding applications, to strategic procurement, technical build-out and follow-up in the operational phase.
How do we work on investigating and improving voltage quality?
In specific voltage quality projects we use targeted measurements as a key tool. We combine this with thorough problem definition and strategic engineering design to uncover and solve challenges in the grid.
How can grid operators efficiently remedy poor voltage quality in weak distribution grids?
Traditional grid reinforcement is often very costly. Alternative and faster methods that have proved highly effective in pilots with Elvia and others include automatic tap changing of transformers with OLTC, deploying battery systems to filter rapid voltage variations, or using voltage boosters. The results from the OLTC pilot have been peer-reviewed and presented at the CIRED conference.
What is Energea's role in the development of eqGrid?
Energea has played a central role in the development of eqGrid and its system architecture. Through real large-scale pilots in the distribution grid, Energea has helped bring to life the solution that combines batteries and transformers to increase capacity and improve voltage quality in the grid.
How does higher-level control and integration of energy and power reserves work?
Real-time control through systems such as energiScada™ integrates batteries, transformers and local generation. This optimises the power flow, cuts peak loads for commercial customers and ensures stable voltage quality in both distribution grids and closed industrial networks.
How can industry and commercial buildings achieve secure operation in island mode?
Through advanced integration of battery systems and power electronics, a site can be safely disconnected from the main grid during a power outage. The system maintains voltage and frequency internally, so that critical industrial process power or critical functions can continue uninterrupted until the grid is back.
How is voltage quality measured and documented in line with the regulations?
A complete measurement service starts with installing PQ meters in the relevant substations or at customer sites. Data is collected automatically in near real time through systems such as energiScada™, and analysed directly against the requirements of the Norwegian Regulation on Quality of Supply (FoL) and EN 50160 to document deviations and find the right measure.
