Projects
Voltage quality, island mode, shore power, charging and AMS, for grid operators, ports and municipalities.
Energea and energiScada™ have been central to Elvia's projects to strengthen the distribution grid, to Borg Havn's work on island mode, shore power and charging, and to the rollout of AMS (smart metering) at Norgesnett and in Hvaler municipality. Here we have gathered the projects we have been part of, with links to experience reports and publications.

Voltage quality in the distribution grid
Projects to strengthen the distribution grid, from Elvia's pilots in the IDE programme and “eFlow and OLTC” to the commercialisation of eqGrid.
eFlow and OLTC
Elvia's pilot project with the eqGrid hybrid system, funded by Enova. 95% fewer rapid voltage changes in the field.

Developing eqGrid
From pilot to product: commercialising the hybrid system being trialled in “eFlow and OLTC”.

OLTC improves voltage quality
Automatic tap changing of secondary substation transformers gives better voltage quality for all the customers the substation supplies.

Battery system improves voltage quality
A battery system with energiScada™ reduces the current drawn from the substation and filters rapid voltage variations.

energiScada™ visualises data
Analysis of AMS data shows where OLTC, a battery system or a voltage booster gives the best improvement in voltage quality.

Projects for Borg Havn IKS, from a Horizon 2020 research pilot to a finished charging facility. Per Olav Dypvik has been project manager or lead in all four.
The Horizon 2020 project E-LAND
Borg Havn was the Norwegian pilot for multi-vector energy management in island mode, with a battery system, a solar plant and EOS/SCADA.

Can the Øra terminal be operated without an external grid connection? Battery system, solar panels and hybrid harbour cranes assessed together.
Read more →Fast chargers at the Øra terminal
From Enova application to finished facility, with a charge point management system developed by Energea on OCPP 1.6J.
Read more →Shore power pre-project at Tollboden
Shore power at the ISPS terminal in central Fredrikstad, for calls by smaller cruise ships and Hurtigruten. Funding granted by Enova.

Projects for Norgesnett, now Glitre Nett, and for Hvaler municipality, from the first generation of AMS to what comes next. Frank Skoglund has been project manager in all three.
SmartVann Hvaler
Hvaler became the first municipality in Norway with electronic reading of water meters, built on existing AMS meters.
Read more →AMS rollout at Norgesnett
Meter replacement for around 100,000 customers, fully automatic collection to Elhub, and smart functions put into operation afterwards.
Read more →NextGen AMS
New requirement specification and a European tender for the next generation of meters, with distributed intelligence in the meter.
