SmartVann Hvaler
The first municipality in Norway with electronic reading of water meters.
The project was part of SmartEnergi Hvaler, a collaboration between the municipalities of Fredrikstad and Hvaler. The aim was fully automatic reading of water consumption, with alerts for water leaks and frost in water pipes, for customers in Hvaler municipality, built on existing AMS meters from the grid operator Norgesnett.
The solution was unique in its day, and Hvaler became the first municipality in Norway with electronic reading of water meters.
